Postal ballots have already been dispatched for the local elections on the 6th of May. Whilst we will be eagerly cheering on regionalist and civic nationalist parties standing in other parts of the country, we will not be fielding any candidates ourselves, as we lack the resources. Neither do we have any specific recommendations on who to vote for, except for the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) elections. We believe that the post of PCC should be free from party politics. We therefore recommend that you vote either for independents, or for candidates who have specifically pledged to abolish the post. It is worth noting that of the four independent PCCs in England, three are in Wessex. We believe that this alone makes it a distinctively Wessaxon political convention.
